A-frame Kitchen Makeover

Our friend Liz recently finished a kitchen makeover in her A-frame Airbnb and installed a drop-in copper sink. To check out more about the A-frame, follow her at @redaframe  on Instagram.

Eighteen months ago, we bought a 1965 A-Frame cabin and have been slowly renovating it for modern comforts. The tiny kitchen and sink area were in major need of some updates—both functional and cosmetic. It’s our first time doing anything like this, so despite the challenges, it’s been incredible to see the hard work pay off.

The traditional cabin galley kitchen had limited space, but we made the best of it with a tight budget. Here are some before images to show the transformation, including updates like our beloved copper Sinkology sink.

Choosing the Perfect Sink

We needed a sink that would fit the current space perfectly without having to cut into the countertop. As much as I wanted a large farmhouse sink, we went for a drop-in sink, which made the installation process so much easier. We chose a copper sink because it’s masculine but pretty, as well as bold. I wanted something different and unique to complement the funky vibe the A-frame structure naturally brings, so it was a perfect match.

Partnering with Sinkology for Our A-Frame Kitchen Makeover

We are so thankful to have come across Sinkology and beyond grateful for the partnership on this project. We chose the All-In-One Sink Design Kit, which included the sink, Pfister Faucet, Drain, and Breeze Non-Scratch Scrubber. The sink itself was the Angelico Single Bowl 4-hole Drop-In Copper Sink with a garbage disposal drain. The sink is gorgeous!

Understanding Copper Sinks

We read up on copper sinks, so we knew what we were getting into with regards to copper and its ever-changing state and how to take care of it. The sink was paired with the Ashfield 1-Hand Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet and soap dispenser, which matched perfectly. We also added the Fuller Copper Kitchen Sink Bottom Grid that we love so much because we can use it as a dry rack, and it helps keep dishes and food from sitting directly on the copper sink bottom.

Installation Process

Installation was pretty straightforward. Sinkology provided us with all the informational booklets, from the installation guide to how to clean the sink and register for the warranty. It took us a few hours and a run to the local hardware store to get everything in place.

Final Thoughts on the A-Frame Kitchen Makeover

We couldn’t be more delighted with how the sink looks in our new kitchen! Thank you, Sinkology!
