Favorite Fall Finds – Ways to Instantly Bring Autumn Into Your Home
Fall is officially here and I’ve been up to my elbows in decorating! I’m usually the one trying really hard to hold back the pumpkins in mid-August…but this year, I feel like I fell behind in only starting to get things out in September! Regardless of when you decorate for fall, it’s easy to add a few touches here and there with all the fun and festive décor out there. I always try to shop my attic first because I’m famous for forgetting what I already have and then buying something very similar. Anyone else with me?
But if you’re looking to add some new items to your fall decorating repertoire, take a look at some of these favorites that may or may not be on my shopping list! Some of these are perfect for transitioning into the Halloween season…gotta love double-duty décor!
Craft Pumpkins
I’m such a huge fan of craft pumpkins – you know, those foam look-a-like pumpkins you can get at craft stores. They’re light, come in a variety of sizes/shapes/colors and you can re-use them from year to year. I placed some gray craft pumpkins in my dough bowl centerpiece and love the touch of elegance they bring to my table. I painted the stems gold for a fun, metallic twist. So easy!
Hanging Decor
Garlands, swags, banners, wreaths…you name it and I’ll hang it! Thinking vertical with décor is a great way to maximize space and make a little corner or nook feel extra special. The front door is one obvious area where hanging décor comes to mind. I love to keep things simple and choose one statement-making piece to welcome guests when they walk up to the door. This Blooming Autumn Heather Tri-Color Wreath by Joann is the perfect accent for any door – and you can’t beat the price! The fall colors create an almost ombre effect.

I also love this little Felt Pumpkin Banner. It would be great draped across your mantel or even woven throughout a table centerpiece for a touch of rustic whimsy.
Setting the Table
I’m definitely a less-is-more kinda gal when it comes to tablescapes…so I love things that can be easily placed and that transcend seasons. These Orange Buffalo Check Napkins from Grandin Road grabbed my attention immediately. Buffalo check is so versatile and pairs well with vintage and modern styles. The orange and black tones in this pattern make it perfect not just for fall, but for Halloween too! I’d place these at individual settings or layer them to set up a festive bar or buffet.
Signs of Fall
I’m always such a sucker for signage! I like to tuck little sayings in random places or go big with a statement sign to greet guests. I also love, love to shop Etsy…so many amazing finds and talented designers/crafters in one place. You’re guaranteed to find something! Case in point: I found this completely cute “Hey There Pumpkin” sign from Charming Wood Home. It comes in various sizes/finishes and is just right for adding a little fall fun to a shelf or countertop.
