Effortless Installation with BILT®
Vessel sink installation instructions are available on the BILT® App. Download the BILT App and search “Sinkology” to find interactive instructions specifically for your product and installation type. It’s so simple, it feels like cheating!
Getting Started
This procedure will assist you with installing the Sinkology Bath Vessel Sink and Drain.
- Vessel
- The Vessel Bath Sink can only be installed onto a new countertop.
- To replace an existing sink, the existing cut countertop must also be replaced.
What You’ll Need
Level, a Power Drill with a 2 3/4″ Hole Saw, a Tape Measure, Plumber’s Putty, 100% Neutral-Cure Silicone Sealant, a Carpenter’s Pencil, a Water-Soluble Marker, a Utility Knife, and Safety Glasses and Gloves.
If you wish to bevel the Sink’s mounting hole, you may also need either a Router with a 45-degree Bevel Bit or a Rotary Tool with a Grinding Bit, depending on your type of counter-top.
Instructions
- Turn off the water supply and disconnect the plumbing.
- Mock up any plumbing connections and faucet placement to ensure necessary clearances.
- Find and mark the centerline of where the Sink will be installed. Note: The center will often be where the cabinet doors meet, but your cabinets may vary.
- Drill a 2 and three-quarter inch diameter hole in your countertop at the center mark. It is recommended (but not necessary) that the edge of the hole be beveled by one-eighth inch.
- Apply 100% Neutral-Cure Silicone Sealant around the edge of the hole.
- Place the Sink into the hole.
- Important: Sinkology Bath Drains feature a no-overflow design and should only be installed into bathroom sinks without overflow holes. If your sink has an overflow, you will need to purchase an overflow sink drain, available at most retailers.
- Remove the Lock Nut, White Plastic Washer, and Rubber Washer from the Drain Stem.
- Apply Plumber’s Putty on the underside of the Drain Lip.
- Slide the Drain into the drain hole.
- Wipe off any excess Plumber’s Putty. Note: The Drain and the metal of the Sink will be touching with a thin layer of Plumber’s Putty creating a watertight seal around the Drain.
- Place the Large Steel Washer over the Drain Pipe.
- Slide the Rubber Washer onto the Drain Stem.
- Slide on the White Washer, then tighten the Lock Nut onto the threads until the Drain is secure.
- Create a smooth seal around the Sink’s base using 100% Neutral-Cure Silicone Sealant. Note: Allow the Sealant time to cure properly before using the Sink.
- Install the faucet.
- Reconnect the plumbing, turn on the water supply, check for leaks, and repair if needed.
Congratulations, this completes the installation of the Sinkology Vessel Sink.
